The Arena Football League Gameday Environments To Experience

Updated at Mar 17, 2024

Here are some of the best Gameday Environments that every AFL fan should try to experience during the 2024 AFL season.

Considering the AFL is returning for the first time in five years, there is a whole group of new fans who have never experienced what a live game has to offer. Plenty of people have been to an NFL or NCAA football game, but an Arena Football matchup is a different beast. The game that millions of Americans already enjoy is paired with the excitement, action, and close-up nature that you cannot get anywhere else. The speed, the power, and the access of the Arena game is unmatched.

Any Given Day

Every team in the league, from Orlando to Iowa, is going to have a different feel and unique facilities. However, there are a few things that you can count on every arena in the league to deliver. Firstly, every seat in the house is going to feel like it is right on top of the action. The biggest factors in the arena gameplay, the walls and rebound nets, give fans a massive boost in experience. Fans no longer have to worry about missing the action, considering they are practically a part of it. Although highly discouraged, a fan could technically reach out and touch a player on any given play.

Secondly, fans are going to be able to keep up with their favorite teams even if they cannot make it to the arena. That would be thanks to the recent partnership between the AFL and the NFL. NFL Network is going to be broadcasting 30 games over the 2024 AFL season, turning anyone at home into an arm-chair quarterback. Games can also be watched on NFL+.

Minnesota Myth

Myth fans are in for a special experience, considering that their home arena is going to be the Target Center in Minneapolis. Most would know the Target Center as the home stadium for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Seating up to 17,000 attendees, the Myth faithful are going to reap the benefit of those premium facilities. The stadium is equipped with nearly 10 specialty concessions with foods like wagyu sliders, pulled pork, and jerk chicken. There has also been an extra leap for Myth memorabilia and apparel bought.

The AFL has partnered with HUMBL for online ticketing, among other things, but the Myth are the first to take it a step further. The Myth has individually partnered with HUMBL to integrate blockchain technology with their merchandise. Any Minnesota merchandise purchased will be equipped with a QR tag on it. When you scan it, it will take you to a registry page for the garment. HUMBL says this is to boost clarity so that fans are not fooled by counterfeit merchandise. With it comes an NFT that shows ownership and the ability to see the history of the transfer of ownership.

Orlando Predators

The Predators will host their sunny Orlando home games at the Kia Center, which is also the home of the Orlando Magic and the Solar Bears. The Predators are going to be another team that benefits from high-quality facilities. Although the greatest strength of the arena game is its proximity to the players, the Kia Center is equipped with many premium suites and boxes. The Predators will bring the fans to the arena, but the fans will certainly be treated while they are there. There is nearly unmatched food availability, including multiple bars, lounges, and a brewing company on the grounds. No game day in Orlando would be complete without seeing the Prowlers. The Prowlers are the dance team for the Predators and will be performing throughout the game.

Albany Firebirds

The Firebirds are a great representative for the Eastern Division. The Firebirds call MVP Arena home – one of the highest-attended arenas in the country. Fans will not be shy about food options as there are three restaurants in the building that serve pizza, Chinese cuisine, and classic bar foods. The Firebirds also have the honor of hosting the very first game of the new Arena Football League. On April 27th, fans will flock to MVP Arena to watch the Firebirds vs Predators matchup. Die-hard AFL-ers will be able to watch in style because MVP Arena is also equipped with luxury boxes.

The Firebirds have announced a special event in May. They are going to be teaming up with TNA Wrestling for three consecutive nights of entertainment. TNA Wrestlers Moose and AJ Francis will be honorary captains for the May 2nd game and will participate in other game day promotions. Both Moose (Quinn Ojinnaka) and AJ Francis are former football players with a combined 13 years of NFL experience.

Philadelphia Soul

The Philadelphia Soul are an organization of monolithic status in the history of arena football. A team with this amount of respect deserves a massive arena like CURE Arena. Strangely, this Philly team plays their home games in Trenton, New Jersey– a forty-minute drive from the city they claim. Fortunately, fans who are willing to make the trip are going to soak up the fine atmosphere of CURE Arena. Hungry fans are treated to six different restaurant concessions. Premium suites are also available for the more lavish fanatics. Overall, the CURE Arena provides comfortable seating, a large open concourse, and impeccable eating options for the Philly home crowd.

Rapid City Marshals

When asked about the Gameday Experience for the Marshals, Co-Owner Wes Johnson had this to say, “Gameday at the Summit Arena is such a fun experience! The minute the doors open, something exciting is going on in the arena. The concessions are open with tons of options to choose from. Merch is being sold in the concourse. The dance team and players may be warming up on the field. Bullock, the Marshal mascot, is taking photos with fans and is up to his usual shenanigans. Then, about 35-40 minutes before kickoff, the excitement on the field starts with pregame entertainment, fun and games, player and dance team announcements, a dance team performance, God Bless the USA, the National Anthem, coin toss, and game ball presentation. Arena Football in the Summit Arena is the most fun you’ll ever have at a football game!”

The Rapid City Marshals will host fans at the Summit Arena in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Summit is a fine arena that the Marshals fan brigade will very much enjoy every week. As Johnson said above, Summit Arena is an amazing venue for Arena Football. Each week will be a show fans will not want to miss, but one of the season’s premier events will be their May 8th match up vs the Southwest Kansas Storm. During halftime, there will be a special performance by DJ Unk. The platinum album recipient is famous for his 2006 hit ‘Walk It Out.’
